Tim Copsey and Vanda Battye invited me to take part in the inaugural exhibition at EmptySpace, a converted barn in the village of Holme, West Yorkshire. The show was part of the Holmfirth Artweek Fringe. The other exhibitors at EmptySpace were Tim Copsey, Richard Fitton, Lucy Newman and Dave Tebbs.

During the show I went on walks in the locality making drawings of the landscape and places I visited. Back at the barn I pinned the drawings on the wall in sequence, building up a record of the weeks work.

I spent one morning at Holmfirth Cattle Market.

 

 

 

 

 

One day I walked along the footpath from Wessenden Head to Marsden.

 

 

 

 

 

I spent an afternoon in Holme Village……..

 

 

 

 

 

The garden behind EmptySpace provided a refuge in the July heatwave.

 

 

 

 

Another walk was from Ramsden Resevoir, along Dobbs Top towards Holmfirth.
