Venice is well trodden ground for the artist. So, as much as I was drawn to the energy and life around the Grand Canal, I chose to do most of my drawing in the quieter streets of Castello and Dorsodouro.
Newhaven Open Crawl
Newhaven Open Call, August 2019, A4
This set of drawings were made on a Newhaven pub crawl. The pub theme came about as Newhaven Open Call will be upstairs at the Ship Hotel on Newhaven High Street. Here are some of the drawings that I’ll be submitting for the show; made on visits to The Hope Inn, The Prince of Wales, The Jolly Boatman and the White Hart. The show will run over the weekend 0f 24th, 25th, 26th August and the weekend of 31st and 1st September. The Preview will be on Friday 24th 4-6pm.

Newhaven Open Call is an exhibition curated by Nick Marsh, Nick Bush & Helen Turner at UTC, Harbourside in Newhaven. Its open on the weekend of 25th, 26th & 27th August then the weekend of 1st & 2nd September. Details here.
I’m showing A4 drawings that I made around the town on the 15th and 17th August. The first day was spent mostly around the Harbour and the second day I walked around North Quay Road and Denton Island.
