Lewes, Part 1

These drawings come from a week of drawing walks I took last September, they were made for an exhibition at Gallery 127 on Lewes High Street, one of a series of shows organised by the Nu Artists group for Artwave. I worked in a different part of Lewes each day on A5 paper and hung all the drawings in the gallery, building up a record of the walks and eventually filling a wall of the gallery. Lucy Newman & Sara Grisewood were the other artists in the show.

Venezia

October 2019

Venice is well trodden ground for the artist. So, as much as I was drawn to the energy and life around the Grand Canal, I chose to do most of my drawing in the quieter streets of Castello and Dorsodouro.
